Blingo Bingo

As you may or may not know, I am a member of a local chapter of Junior League. A couple of weekends ago, I attended a charity luncheon and bingo event to raise money for our local projects.

The theme of this year's event was Blingo Bingo and I have to admit our table really took that theme to the next level. My girlfriends bedazzled visors and t-shirts and had hairpieces and boas. Of course, we were all blinged out with jewelry as well.

The lunch was nice and there was a silent auction with lots of great stuff ranging from a hot air balloon ride to a weekend getaway to Vegas to a guitar signed by Taylor Swift. I bid on a romantic weekend at a local hotel and restaurant with a bottle of champagne (hoping to enjoy after the baby is born). However, I was outbid.

Then, the bingo began. As part of our ticket price, we received 2 bingo cards, but had the option to buy more to increase our chances. I bought 3 more. Each round, the winning card received great prizes donated by local businesses. In addition to the individual winning, if you were at that person's table, you also won a prize. Our table was getting a little discouraged until finally on the next to last round, one of my gal pals won! She got a fabulous Estee Lauder gift basket ($600 value) and therefore each of us won a small Estee Lauder gift bag ($40 value). We were very excited.

We also received swag bags at the end which were full of lots of fun goodies and snacks (also donated by our sponsors). It was a fun event and provided lots of laughs and girl time!
