The Red, White and Blue

We had a great July 4th! We started the day going to the parade then ended with hanging out with my brother and his family for sandwiches and playing in the backyard!

My little "heroes" on the way to the parade!
Cate insisted on taking her purse with green pepper, her cell phone and her magic wand!

Having a snack before the parade started.

We park our car at a local office building at the end of the parade route and back it in, then sit in the back end and bring a few camping chairs to get a great view of the parade under the shade of our car and tree! This has been our favorite spot the last few years since living here. I think it has officially become a tradition for us!

Making silly faces while waiting for the parade to reach us!

Fighter planes that flew over us several times before the parade started. Max loved this!

The color guard began the parade!

The Special Forces Association.

Waving her flag for freedom!

A tad bit bored between floats.

That smile is more like it!

A step back in time!

Showing our patriotic spirit.

I hope all of you had a safe and fun Independence Day!

My favorite is Cate waving her flag for freedom! It's just so innocent and sweet. See you SOON :)

What a fun 4th! Love Cate's purse - you never know when you're going to need a green pepper. LOL!

Looking forward to Thursday. Don't forget to let me know if there are any food allergies, aversions.

You have some great picts of Cate and Max in there.

I remember when my older girls would let me dress them up in red, white, and blue - pigtails and all. Now they've outgrown that sort of thing. :( Just makes it worse on the remaining two!

Love them all, but I agree with "turnitupmom" - loved the one of Cate waving and Max smiling all big and bright!

Oh, and just FYI - they DON'T outgrow the silly faces - Meghan is 19 and still making faces - I posted one of her's on my blog last night of our 4th of July festivities!!

Happy Monday -
