Cookie Cutters

For the past several weeks, the kids have been begging to make cookies. They found the cookie cutters in the drawer and each and every day, I get a request to bake gingerbread cookies.

Now, I have never made gingerbread dough from scratch and I was afraid to do it and it not turn out right. Then, to my surprise, they had Pillsbury gingerbread dough in the refrigerated section of my supermarket....and a coupon to boot!

So, I got some sprinkles, and icing and decided that could be a project this past weekend.

I also found some aprons that I bought last year and never used. Mine says "Cookie Maker" and theirs say "Cookie Taster". They were filled with excitement and delight as I pulled out all the components. They took turns rolling out dough and cutting. I was shocked that there was no fighting over cookie cutters or who got to do what!

It was a fun afternoon and now we have some delicious cookies to show for it. We even had so much fun doing it that I went out and got more dough to make his class treats for his birthday tomorrow!

I used to make cookies a few times a week, but it has been a long time. My boys have all been begging me to make some more. I think you've convinced me. ;)
Great pictures!

Fun! That is on our advent activity list too but I'll probably take a short cut or two too.
