Last week was Cate's last day of her two year old program, Leaps and Bounds. She has had a wonderful year under the careful and loving watch of her two teachers, Mrs. Kyle and Mrs. Emmett. She met lots of new friends and has practically skipped out the door each Tuesday and Thursday to get to school as fast as she could.
On the last day, they had the parents attend with their child for "A Day in the Life" so that we could see how their day started and partake in some of the fun activities that they did each and every day. Unfortunately, due to these pregnancy complications, I was unable to attend, but my wonderful husband made sure he took a ton of pictures so that I could feel a part of the day.
Each morning they started off with their welcome song, followed by counting their "friends" in English then Spanish. After that, they would go over their colors, letters, numbers, and shapes. They did movement exercises to get up and moving to music. This was always a silly and fun time filled with lots of laughter and joy. Imaginative play was always encouraged during free times between lessons.
At the end of this particular morning, each child was called up and given a certificate. The teachers told several cute stories/memories that they had for each child. They said that Cate always ran in and announced her arrival with such gusto. Mrs. Kyle said that she would always remember the day Cate came in with her new haircut and "bowed and leaned forward" as if to show the top of her head. They said that Cate was a joy and delight and was always very loving.
