Yesterday it was registering at 102 degrees and we are only 3 days into summer!
Well, last evening, my sister-in-law and I were sitting in our family room and heard a loud noise come from our back porch. We ran to the back door to see what the sound was and saw this!

When we opened the door to investigate closer, we could hear the glass still popping and crackling up from the pile just like popcorn! No one was anywhere near the table. The dogs were at the back door but not touching the table, so it had to be the heat!Thank goodness my sister-in-law was here to help clean it up, as that was a huge chore and I couldn't (and shouldn't) have done it, especially in that heat. I felt bad, though, as she and my brother and niece just happened to be staying with us for the next few days when their A/C went out at their house and won't be repaired until the end of the week. So, here she is, staying at my house to stay cool and this happens and she is out in the heat again, cleaning up the glass. She quickly figured out that the broom and dustpan just wasn't going to cut it as our back porch is a gravely, pebbly concrete with lots of crevices. So, she brought out our shop vac and it got the mess up much quicker and safer! But, it was a TON of heavy glass! God Bless Her!
Matt and I have discussed getting a new table and chairs for our patio, but keep putting it off for the next summer! I guess we won't be putting that off that purchase for another year.

I had NO IDEA that heat could cause that to happen! Sheesh! Well, I suppose your next table set will not be glass topped!
Stay cool!
Wow - did not know heat could do that! I thought it was hot here but nothing like what you're having.
