A Star is Born

Recital day finally arrived. Her rehearsal was a huge success. NO stage fright from this little starlet. I was optimistic that she would be even better for the actual recital for her daddy, brother and grandfather to see.

In the afternoon, after a playdate and nap, she took a pre-recital bubble bath and got all made up!

Once Daddy got home, we all posed for a family shot with our little star. I was very pleased at how well they both cooperated and what a great picture we actually got on the first take! (a little photo editing liberties were taken on myself, LOL)

We headed out and got to the auditorium with lots of time to spare. We got really good seats about 4 rows back.

Her performance was about 10 songs in, so she watched a few of the performances before going to the staging area. Max helped my mom escort her to the area where they line up. My mom said it was so cute. He crouched down to her level, told her to smile real big and that she looked beautiful and that he loved her very much! When Mom told me this, I got tears in my eyes. I would have loved to have seen that tender moment.

As I said in the previous post, we weren't allowed to take pictures or video of the actual recital, but she did fantastic! Even better than at the rehearsal! They changed up the order in which they were lined up and she was right in the middle! So, we had a perfect view. I can't wait to see the professionally made DVD that we ordered.

After the show, Max presented her with some white roses. I think that made her feel really special.

We then took the kids to their favorite restaurant, Purple Cow Diner, for a celebratory dinner.

We gave her a little ballet slipper necklace that she just loved and my parents gave her a Ballerina Precious Moment to add to the collection they started for her at her baptism.

It was a great evening for all of us. I think this is just the beginning, too. That night, I believe a star was born!!!

Okay that comment from big brother has me in tears. What a lucky little lady to have such a loving brother. I'm seriously still crying. Awww...
*sniff*

She is an absolute doll! I love that she took a bubble bath and then got ready. Such a little grown up. ;)

Can I just that I love your family. Maybe you guys could adopt all six of us. I love how you all got dressed up and even Grandma and Grandpa took part. I love the celebratory dinner, too!

Way to go Miss Cate - you are a little doll!
