Camp Nonnie and Pop-Pop 2010

The kids just returned from a fun week all by themselves with their grandparents in New Jersey. This is the first summer that they have gone for the whole week with them and they had a blast. Since the kids a still a bit too young to fly out there without us, my father-in-law came down to TX to fly up with them and then Matt flew out at the end of the week and stayed the weekend to spend time with his family and then fly back with them.

The week was filled with fun activities. They went to the Essex County Zoo and enjoyed a train ride, seeing animals, learning fun facts about those animals, riding ponies, and getting up close and personal with a roaming peacock!

They also went to the Crayola Factory in Easton, PA. There was all kinds of fun interactive projects for the kids to do. They also got to try out a lot of the Crayola products. Both kids talked about this for days when they got back. I am thinking this was the hit of the week!

And of course, what would a summer vacation be without pool time. Their younger cousin, Thomas, also came out to see Nonnie and Pop-Pop from NYC. I think they all enjoyed the splish splash time with each other.

Beyond that, it was just good old fashioned bonding time with their grandparents. They played outside, went to see Toy Story 3, and just hung out!

I was missing them all week, but knew they were having such a great time! They are going to the Outerbanks with Nonnie and Pop-Pop and the rest of the extended family on Matt's side later this summer before school starts. Matt and I will be otherwise engaged...with a new baby, but they are sure looking forward to more summertime fun with them!

You are so blessed to have such wonderful family on both sides. Looks like the kiddos had a fantabulous time. And (in spite of me razzing you on Facebook) you were brilliant to have taken the opportunity to get a little pampering in before little Mr. Monkey shows up!
