Matt took the kids to Virginia to see the family for the long weekend. It was a little too expensive for all of us to go, so he offered to take them and give me the ultimate gift.....ALONE TIME!
And it has been fabulous with a capital F.
I have rested, watched movies, eaten junk food (without feeling guilty for eating it in front of the kids), slept in, and caught up on projects around the house without the kids getting in my way!

However, today I feel a bit guilty. Matt called early this morning to tell me that the entire family in Virginia (minus only a lucky few) got very sick last night. Now, mind you, Matt is NEVER sick. In fact, when he called this morning and didn't sound good, my first thought was that something terrible happened to someone...not that he was sick!
He tried to suck it up and get to the airport, but on the way, he got sick again. So, he changed their flights and is coming home tomorrow and plans to rest all day today at his cousin's house. Luckily the kids didn't get it too bad and they are already better.
So, this guilt is a result of the fact that I am feeling so badly for him and how he is feeling but....I am a teensy bit excited that my alone time is getting extended by another day and a half!
Is that a bad thing?

Haha! I know what you mean. That happened the last time Todd tried to take the boys up north to the cabin and give me some alone time.
I say, enjoy your extra day and baby the hubby when he gets back. :)
No way! Enjoy your extra day!
Poor Matt. Lucky Allison. :)
Absolutely not!
We all were sick this past week with a stomach virus. Crazy huh?
What a guy. Don't feel guilty at all...you can take care of them when they return. I hope they're feeling better soon. I've heard of a couple people now with some sort of stomach bug...must be going around.
Oh. That sucks. Poor guy.
BUT. YAHOO for you. I can't even image all that time alone. :)
JEALOUS! Seriously. Wow. I don't know what I'd do. I'd probably spend a good 6 hours DEEP CLEANING for one, but then the rest. Wow. Enjoy your extra day! Moms have to "work" even when they are sick.
Allison, it was great meeting you this weekend. Your kids are so cute. I couldn't help but snap a few pictures of that sweet little girl in the blue raincoat. SOOOOO cute. I'll have to get your email and and send them to you.
Well, by now everyone is back at home, but I'm sure it was a wonderful time for you!!! Sounds like loads of fun!
I'd be feeling the very same way! Lucky you, indeed!
WOW! I could not even imagine having that much time all to myself--I am so jealous.
Glad you had fun!
