Lunch at American Girl

Seeing how much fun she had at the Christmas Tea, I decided to do something special for my sweet Cate for her 3rd birthday. I made reservations at the American Girl Bistro for Cate, my mom, my sister-in-law, my niece and I. I got an early time, so as to beat the big crowd but also get these two little ones fed before hunger set in and potential meltdowns followed.

We got there a little early, so we browsed around the store. Cate was in absolute awe. She has a Bitty Twin (whose twin belongs to my niece) and several outfits for her doll and some accessories. However, she had never been to the store before. She just looked all around and pointed and gasped. It was a lot of fun to see her wonder at all of this doll glory!

As I stated before, she has several outfits and even got matching outfits for Christmas. So, she was all dressed up to match her doll, Twinkle (that's the name she gave her doll). We checked in at the hostess stand and asked if we were celebrating anything special and Cate told them she was turning 3! They gave her a sticker as well as one for Twinkle...so they would match in all aspects.

They seated us shortly after and the place was just precious. Some chandeliers looked like giant flowers, the booths were bright shades of pink. They even had a "treat seat" for their dolls!

At the end of the meal, they brought out Cate's vanilla ice cream with three hot pink candles. The servers yelled out to everyone in the restaurant that Cate was turning 3 and we all needed to sing to her. She was over the moon at all this attention.

Afterward, we used the gift card my mom had given her and got Twinkle another outfit and matching t-shirts for both of them.

I think it was an afternoon to remember! Cate even "read" to Twinkle on the way home!

Oh wow. What a great time. She looks so cute with her bday sundae. I would be in serious trouble if we had an AG around here.

I SO wanted to take my girls to An American Girl Place when they were young enough to appreciate it. Never had the opportunity though.

Cate looks so precious in all of the pictures. Just like a doll, one might say. ;)

When is her actual b-day? Kennedy turns 12 this week, on Wednesday.

Happy birthday Cate!
