Prior to Christmas, Max's school offers a service called Santa's Workshop where the children can go and shop for their family members discreetly. Since Max wanted to get gifts for us without us seeing what they were, I sent him to school with some money not knowing what he was going to pick out. Once the items are purchased, they wrap them up and bring them home to put under the tree.
On Christmas morning, I finally got to open my special gift from him. The one he picked out with no hints from me. The bag felt almost empty, so I thought it might be a voucher for cleaning his room or something like that! To my surprise, it was a tiny ring with a little red stone. I burst into tears at the thought and care he put into choosing this gift for me. His favorite color is red and he said that is why he got it..."to remind me of him!"
This was for sure a Pie and Ice Cream Moment if there ever was one!The ring is one of those adjustable rings made out of very thin metal, so I can't wear it all the time, but it is put away in my jewelry box and I will treasure it always and wear it on special occasions, like maybe on Mother's Day or his graduation, or wedding! It is truly the thought that counts. I love this boy!

that is so special. Maybe someday you can get a real ring to look just like and be able to wear it all of the time.
