Big Girls Don't Cry

We began the week with "Operation No-Paci" in which we threw away all pacifiers (at least all the ones we could find) and made Cate go cold turkey without a pacifier. She made the transition fairly well. It does take her longer to go down for a nap. There was only one day that she cried out for me for about 30 minutes. As hard as that was to hear, I held strong and didn't give in. {pat on the back}

Cate has also been longing for a big girl bed of her own...at least I think that is what she wants. At bedtime, during storytime, she will climb into Max's bed, lay her head on his pillow and pull up his blankets. So, today, Matt and I took measurements of her room and headed out to Pottery Barn and did some long hard looking and price comparing. We found a cute set called the Olivia Bedroom set and ordered the furniture. We should have it sometime in mid to late March.

We have decided to keep the Pink/White/Black and Paris theme of her nursery but with new linens of course.

I am soooo excited to get it all together, but at the same time, a little sad that the time has come for her to leave her crib behind. Stay tuned, more to come....

Allison,

So funny reading your blog. My SIL works for Pottery Barn, and her 2YO's room looks just like this!

She got the bed and dress, and I think she got them BOTH in the pink, not 100% on the bed, but definitely the dresser. She changed the walls to pink, and she is definitely doing the Paris/French thing too!

What a hoot! That furniture is really pretty in person. It's very nice!

Good job girl! See ya' round!

Well, here's the update to my blog...apparently, my memory cells are dying faster than I care to admit! :D

My SIL read your blog and e-mailed me to say that she has the bed and nightstand in WHITE and the dresser in PINK...the walls are all cream now, and the bedding is another color.

Her little girl's room is really beautiful. YOU would love it.

Hope you enjoy your new furniture!!!

Love PBKids - her room is going to look fantastic. I had mixed emotions too about taking down the crib. It was a fixture for 8 years in our house. Have fun decorating!

I LOVE the Olivia bedroom set, and I am obsessed with pottery barn! I am having to get creative in making some of the stuff since I can't afford it, but it is so precious. :)

What a gorgeous bedroom set, your daughter is very lucky. Oh and don't laugh but I didn't realise pottery barn was real, thought it was just on Friends LOL

I love the furniture and the room's current theme! You are so brave for giving up that crib already. Jayce is just about 2.5 and I'm nowhere near ready to put him into a big boy bed. Poor little Mama's boy. He's going to be so made fun of at school!

I was no where near ready to put my little girl in a big girl bed straight from her crib. She was 2 1/2 & didn't seem to mind, but I put her in a toddler bed & then cut the binky cold turkey. We're currently shopping for a big girl bed before her birthday this fall (she'll be 4). And I think I'm going with the PB ones too!
