Romance in WDW

It was April 11, 2002. Matt and I were on our "Fairytale Honeymoon" and we were having what I consider to be one of the most romantic and delicious meals ever at Victoria and Albert's at the Grand Floridian. We had a 5 course meal with wine pairing. It was truly amazing.

Fast forward to April 11, 2009. Matt and I wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary while we were there for our Easter vacation. We decided we really wanted to try out the restaurant, Jiko - The Cooking Place at Animal Kingdom Lodge. That is where we stayed a year and a half before when taking Max for the first time. However, we didn't get a chance to eat there. I had heard such wonderful things about it. It is also supposed to have one of the most extensive South African wine lists in the US. So, after our fun day in Epcot, we left our kids with the grandparents for another night out! Trust me...I know how lucky we were to have them on this vacation!

We got there early and walked around the lobby and had someone take our picture in front of this beautiful tribal art.
Then, we took a walk around the viewing areas out back to see the animals. Before long, it was time to check in for our reservation.

Matt wanted to sample a bunch of the appetizers as his entree...his plates took up half the table. I opted for the infamous Filet with Macaroni and Cheese! Now, I know why it is so popular.

It was a simply delicious meal and atmosphere and we will definitely go there again.
