....we went to the Science and Nature Museum yesterday with the kids and....
I DIDN'T HAVE A WAY TO TAKE PICTURES!
I know, can you believe it! Me, forget a camera (huge gasp), well, I didn't exactly forget my camera! That, I had. Just no memory card (even bigger gasp)! I am known for always have my camera. In fact, a few weeks ago, at a school function, one of our friends forgot their camera and their son said, "Don't worry, Miss Allison will have her camera!"
I was so mad at myself. I RARELY forget my camera in situations like this. Granted, I had my camera and extra lens with me, but my memory card was still sitting in the PC after uploading my last batch of pictures.
There were so many great opportunities for awesome pics!
Ok, enough about the camera.
We spent Memorial Day at the Science and Nature Museum at Fair Park in Dallas. That morning, Max asked if we could go somewhere to dig up dinosaur bones. We were a bit stumped at first as to how we were going to make that happen. But, then we remembered this museum. We have never been, but had been meaning to go for sometime. It was amazing. It had a dinosaur dig area, a new interactive spy exhibit (which we didn't do this time, but plan to go back just Max and I), a great Children's area with interactive farm area, bug/backyard critter exhibit, and a small area about dentistry!
The kids loved it. It wasn't too crowded and it was very clean (they also had hand sanitizer at every turn)!
I plan to go back with just Max to see the Planetarium, spy exhibit, and ride the swan boats in the lagoon. I hope to remember my camera WITH MEMORY CARD!
I hope all of you had a safe and memorable Memorial Day with your families! What fun things did you do?

I hate when I forget my camera and it's even worse when I REMEMBER my camera but them realize there is no memory card in it... I'm sorry!
Sounds like tons of fun! I've discovered lately that sometimes things are better without the camera. You actually are IN the moment and can fully enjoy it. I'm working on that. :)
my camera wouldn't turn on during shannon's graduation...i missed the processional and the first 2 songs...then joe picks it up, pushes the button and voila...silly thing turned right on.
GRRR.
sorry you missed some photo ops though! i know that must've been killin you! and there's always next time ;)
Becca
What a pain but it sounds as though you had a fantastic time!
Oh, I hate that-and the whole time you were probably saying "wish I had my camera!"
That's a bummer. Sounds like a fantastic museum. Maybe next time you can store a spare memory card in your wallet in case you're ever in that situation again.
I love the title of this...it is the shock of all shockers! You'll never forget it again. I'm willing to bet.
