Choosing a time to go to Walt Disney World can be one of the most important decisions you can make! Due to the popularity of such a locale, the time of the year can either make or break you.
Here are some factors to consider when choosing your travel date:

Weather
Since Walt Disney World is in Central Florida, the weather can play a huge factor in the planning process. Do you prefer to go in the warmer climates? Do you mind humidity? Will playing in the parks in the rain "rain on your parade"? (no pun intended).
April and December typically have the least amount of average rainfall, whereas, June and July typically have the heaviest average rainfall. Late summer obviously has the hottest temperatures and most humidity, whereas the winter is fairly mild.
Personally, my favorite time to travel there is either in mid-November or mid-April.
Peak season/Value season
This could be a make or break factor for those who do not like the CROWDS! Peak season in the parks is usually from the beginning of March to mid-April and June to August. The reason for this: Spring and Summer Break for schools! So, if you want to avoid the crowds, keep this in mind. You may be looking at 60-120 minute wait times on the most popular rides. Usually the least crowded times of the year are mid-January to the end of February (excluding Marathon weekend and Presidents' weekend). Lastly, as the title states, the best values will be found during these low peak times! Check the Walt Disney World website to find out the specific dates for each of these categories.
Special Events
If you plan to travel for a special event in the parks such as the International Food and Wine Festival or the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, this could determine your travel time very specifically! Again, check the website for specific dates each year.
Lead Time
Are you planning for a trip in the distant future or a last minute vacation? As WDW is an extremely popular vacation spot, planning a spur of the moment trip could be risky. Don't get me wrong, there can be some good deals found throughout the year in order to boost ticket and room sales, however, you might also find things booked up! So, my personal advice...when planning a WDW vacation, start planning no later than 6-9 months in advance!

In a nutshell, if your vacation time at work dictates when you go...it dictates when you go! But, you can always make it work with a little planning.

Our favorite times to go are late Jan (NO crowds!) and late Sept/Oct (MNSSHP, Food & Wine) But really, even when we've gone in June or August we've had a great time. you're in DISNEY! :)
We're going in November for the 2nd time. Love that time of year at Disney!
