Weekend Update

Well, amid all the rain we had this past weekend, we still managed to have a lot of fun, too!

Yesterday, Matt and Max took our old nursery furniture to the White Rose Center in Dallas. Hopefully, a mother in need will be able to use it will all the love we did. After they got back, we had lunch and played some games.

Then, while Cate napped, the boys left again to go to Matt's work. Max LOVES going to work with Daddy. He usually draws/colors while Matt catches up on work.

When they got back, we went out to dinner and the kids were very well behaved and ate pretty well.

Once they went to bed, Matt ran out to get us some ice cream and we watched Frost/Nixon "on demand". I thought it was actually very good. I really enjoyed my little "home date" with Matt! Sometimes, just a cuddle on the couch, some ice cream and a good movie is all you need to have some great one on one time with a loved one!

Today, after church, I went for my bi-monthly mani/pedi! I do have to admit, this is a splurge that Matt still allows me to indulge in even though we are trying to cut back in these hard times. I am very appreciative that he recognizes that this little alone time gives me what I need to relax and feel pretty!

Once I got back and Cate was awake from her nap, we headed out for some bowling. We had such a great time the first time we went with Matt's parents that we thought this drizzly afternoon we be the perfect opportunity to go again. It is so much fun to watch them having a great time. Cate yells, "go, go Max!" and Max gives us a thumbs up when he knocks over pins. It was a real pie and ice cream moment! Matt and I are truly so blessed to have such wonderful children and the time we have to spend with them.

I hope all of you had a really great weekend! Here's to a fantastic week ahead!

I second what you said about "in-house" date nights. Before Torri was old enough to babysit we had no choice but to settle for movie night on the couch. Worked out just fine!

Allison--I am trying to find your post that links to the blog that talks about the meal plan book--the one you're using to plan meals for 8 weeks at a time. Help!

Love hanging out with my hubby and watching tv. Bonus if there's ice cream :) I'm a big fan of pedi's - what a nice treat and you deserve it.
