Anyway, I think I'll need more consoling than he will, but this is a great book about first day fears. We have this book and it has also been read within the first few weeks of school in both of his preschool classes.
The Kissing Hand
by Audrey Penn
It is a very sweet story about a bond between parent and child and the comfort and reassurance the parent gives to the child on his/her first day of school. The illustrations are so sweet and tender. If you haven't already read this book, I say it is a MUST have! Enjoy.

That is a great book and a wonderful way to send kids to school...knowing they have you with them.
I am totally getting this book. My little man will go off to kindergarten (sniff sniff) this year as well.
I will need this one next year. It looks like you are a year ahead of me. I keep thinking its going to be fine, but reading your words makes me know that its going to be really hard....on me.
Thanks for joining this week!
we have it and LOVE It. My daughter liked it alot!
Aw, what a sweet storybook!
As you know I love the book- the sequel is a Pocketful of Kisses and it is great too. -Love you, Mom
I think we have matching libraries. This is a favorite naptime read around here too!
my oldest daughter's kindergarten teacher read this to the class/parents the very first thing on the first day of school...at the end,we all kissed our babies' hands... and left them to enjoy their first day of school. I'll never forget it, it was so precious.
That's a great book with lovely pictures.
