This morning was a good morning! Max slept until 7:20am! Well, I am not sure he slept until then, but he didn't come in to my room until then. And, he stayed in his room, no playing loudly in the playroom. I am literally doing a happy dance in my seat right now.
We had a long talk about being a responsible 5 year old (his birthday is in a couple of weeks) and what that means. We got him a responsibility chart for things like making his bed, putting on his own clothes, brushing his own teeth, taking a bath (and not putting up a fight during it), sharing with his sister, and no whining! Each time he goes the whole day and does that particular chore, he gets a smily face for that day. We told him that each week that he has all happy faces, he will get something special like an outing of his choice, a new book, special dinner, etc. We'll see how it goes.
On another front, Cate is now in Pull-Ups and we have only had one stripping episode! She has also been very cooperative when it does come to changing those. So, dare I say it, potty training next?! I think we'll at least wait until after the holidays and her birthday in early January. But at least it is no longer too much of a battle changing her and we don't have a half naked baby running around.
Only 2 more days until Thanksgiving and you know what that means....only 3 more days until our ELF makes his debut! I think it will be a fun distraction before the holidays and also the anticipated rule keeper of the house. More on him/her in the coming weeks!
Thanks for listening to all the updates of my adorable Slices of Heaven! I can truly say after lots of rest last night...I THINK TODAY WILL BE GOOD ONE :)

The ELF on the shelf sounds like something my house needs too!
Our Elfis is coming too and he can't come soon enough. I'm seriously considering having him bring a letter too. Can't wait to hear what your kids think.
That's great about sleeping in. Doesn't have that extra time make a world of difference? Enjoy!
