My Easter Basket
And the true story of Easter
by Mary Manz Simon
With Easter being a little over a month away, I wanted to share one of my Easter favorites. This is a great educational book. Not only does it tell the Easter story in a very unique way, but it also reinforces colors. It does this by having each color represent a special part of the Easter story. For example:
"The brown inside my basket, as dark as a cave...reminds me of the sad place that was Jesus' grave."
We got this book for Max's first Easter and we have read it to him since then. It is a very sturdy board book and I hope you might consider it if you are looking for a great book to tell the story of Jesus' sacrifice for us in terms that small children can understand.
